After More than 40 Years, Matthews Buses, Inc., is still Growing with Thomas Built Buses

HIGH POINT, N.C. — Thomas Built Buses dealer, Matthews Buses, Inc. recently expanded its New York territory to include Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan, Rockland and Ulster counties with the acquisition of Maybrook-based, Quality Bus and Truck Sales. Matthews now offers parts, service, warranty repairs, painting, and of course, bus sales to western, central and eastern New York through its four locations, including facilities in Ballston Spa, Syracuse, Dansville and Maybrook.

Family-owned, 42-year old Matthews Buses, Inc. has been a Thomas Built Buses dealer in New York since 1967. In 2008 Matthews Buses purchased select assets of Florida Bus Unlimited to serve central and northern Florida markets through an Orlando-based dealership and mobile service units. “The dedicated team at Matthews Buses brings years of school transportation experience to these key markets,” said Glenn Matthews, president.

Florida Bus Unlimited and Quality Bus and Truck Sales were both Thomas Built bus dealers prior to acquisition by Matthews Buses.
