Daimler Trucks North America Honors 48 Masters of Quality

PORTLAND, Ore. — Daimler Trucks North America announced today the 48 recipients of its 2016 Masters of Quality Supplier Award. The recipients are being recognized as top quality supplier of components and services for the Freightliner and Western Star brands.

The annual program, now in its 30th year, recognizes outstanding suppliers that have received high scores on their quality, delivery, technology and cost performance as measured on a Balanced Scorecard basis. These suppliers demonstrate an ongoing commitment to continuously improving the quality of their products, support to DTNA and overall performance of their businesses.

“2016 was a great year for Daimler Trucks North America overall. We were able to build nearly 146,000 vehicles, our class 8 market share reached the 40 percent mark and we were able to successfully launch our new Cascadia. Our suppliers play a significant role in our success as they work in partnership with many departments of Daimler Trucks North America to help the company meet its goals,” said Jeff Allen, Sr. VP of production, quality and specialty vehicles. “The Masters of Quality award winners represent the ‘best of the best’ amongst our suppliers; we really appreciate their hard work and commitment since they are a key element to our enduring success.”

General Manager of Quality and Supplier Management Paul Romanaggi also congratulated the winners stating, “In 2016, our Masters of Quality suppliers ensured on-time delivery of quality parts to our manufacturing plants day after day. As a result, we were able to provide our customers with the best value and significant competitive advantages of our products, due in part to the level of excellence provided by our Masters of Quality suppliers.”
