NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Student Transportation of America, Inc. (STA) today announced it will host an open house event at their facility on Wed., July 1, 12560 Raymer Street in North Hollywood. The open house begins at 10 a.m.; presentations of STA’s commitment to utilizing alternative fuel vehicles that drive down greenhouse gases and emissions will start at 11 a.m.
STA has purchased over 70 propane-fueled vehicles for this new contract with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and have installed a new state-of-the-art 15,000 gallon propane fueling station that is safe, environmentally friendly, and fast filling.
An industry leader in “green” fuel initiatives, STA, in 2007, received grants toward the purchase of Compressed Natural Gas buses for its Riverside, Calif., operations. The company also operates the largest fleet of biodiesel-fueled buses in Ontario, Canada, where it operates as Student Transportation of Canada.
Refreshments will be served throughout the day and STA management is inviting the general public along with LAUSD officials, local government officials, members of the police and fire department, other school district leaders, and key members of the transportation press.
