BusWest Buys Auto Safety House, Expands Thomas Built Service

A recent BusWest acquisition now enables Thomas Built Bus customers to be serviced by a facility located in Nevada, something that no other school bus company can offer, the company stated.

BusWest President James P. Bernacchi announced that Buswest, headquartered in Carson, Calif., purchased the Thomas Built Bus dealership for Nevada from Auto Safety House in Phoenix, Ariz.

Company officials said they look forward to working with all of the school districts, charter and private schools in Nevada to support their school bus operations. They added that BusWest and Auto Safety House have been working closely together in recent weeks to ensure a smooth transition without an interruption in customer services.

BusWest of Las Vegas and Silver State Truck and Trailer are a full-service facility for Thomas Built, with fully trained and certified technicians. It also provides a complete range of all Thomas Built aftermarket parts, along with a modern heavy-duty collision facility.

A division of the Velocity Vehicle Group, BusWest has sales and service centers located throughout California, Nevada and Hawaii. Auto Safety House has served customers across Arizona with the sale of new and pre-owned school and commercial buses, truck equipment, emergency lighting and service since it opened in 1941.

Thomas Built Buses, a subsidiary of Daimler Trucks North America LLC, is one of the leading school bus OEMs in North America.
