EPA School Bus Rebate Program Application Deadline Looms

The U.S. EPA reminded school bus operators that they have through Nov. 14 to submit applications for their share of over $7 million in grant money for cleaner vehicle emissions.

EPA is providing up to $20,000 for replacing older school buses with new clean-diesel or alternative-fuel school buses. Meanwhile, EPA is awarding up to $6,000 per school bus for emissions retrofit projects.

EPA hosted an informational webinar on Oct. 5  that highlighted rebate options for school districts, states, tribal governments, and private school bus contractors and provided more background on the program.

The deadline for applications is 4 p.m. Eastern on Nov. 14.
