The Western Publishing Association (WPA) named School Transportation News magazine one of five finalists for the 63rd Annual MAGGIE Awards that recognizes excellence among publishing and media professionals.
The monthly publication covering the national student transportation and school bus industries is up for Best Trade Magazine in the categories of business, finance, management and retail. The winner will be announced during an awards banquet on May 2 at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel at Los Angeles International Airport.
“I am so proud of our team at School Transportation News. They all work so tirelessly to achieve excellence each month,” said STN Publisher Tony Corpin. “This is a very special honor that will be shared with everyone that has supported us over the years.”
WPA said it believes recognition is the best way to honor achievement. For more than 60 years, it has bestowed awards of excellence to deserving individuals and companies whose work is deemed “The Best in the West” in a wide variety of publishing categories.
The non-profit business association based in Westlake Village, Calif., is dedicated to the advancement of the media publishing industry in the western United States. Founded in 1951, its primary mission is to provide continuing education to the media publishing industry through seminars, conferences, roundtables and partnering with other groups and associations to offer online audio and videoconferences.
School Transportation News is one of two magazines published by STN Media Group, the other being Mobile Electronics magazine, which also was named a finalist in the same category.
