Burglary Suspect Hitches a Ride on School Bus

A Florida burglary suspect caught a ride on a school bus and was later arrested, reported the Herald-Tribune.

Erik Hall, 27, reportedly boarded a school bus that was headed to Manatee High School Tuesday morning. The school bus driver mistook him for a high school student and asked him to put a shirt on. Hall did not comply and took a seat.

According to a statement from the school district, he did not act aggressively or in any way that could have indicated a threat to the students or driver.

Hall later approached the driver during the trip and told her he was not a student and just wanted a ride home. When the bus arrived at its destination, the school bus driver flagged down an administrator and asked for the school resource officers. Hall was questioned by the Bradenton Police Department and was subsequently released.

However, he was later arrested on trespassing charges. It was also later discovered that he was a suspect in a burglary that had occurred that morning. Possible burglary charges are pending.
