TSD Speaker Spotlight: Julie Weatherly

Julie Weatherly, Esq. will give one of the keynote addresses at the upcoming TSD Conference in Frisco, Texas.

She is the owner of Resolutions in Special Education, Inc., or RISE, with offices in Alabama and Florida and has over 30 years of experience in providing legal representation and consulting services to school districts providing education and transportation to students with disabilities. She is also a member of LRP’s Special Education Attorneys Advisory Council, which authors the legal update article for the Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) quarterly newsletter. The organization presented her with the CASE Outstanding Service award in 2012.

Weatherly’s keynote on Tuesday, March 21 will be “an overview of important legal developments in the area of transportation of students with disabilities,” including topics like the transportation of medically fragile students, bullying and harassment, the discipline of students with disabilities and more. Later that day, she will present “Special Education Case Law: Hot Topics,” which will “provide attendees with an overview of case-law related to current hot topics in the field of education of students with disabilities.”
