First Student Acquires New York School Bus Company

CINCINNATI — First Student, Inc., the leading school transportation provider in the U.S., today announced the acquisition of southern New York-based G&G Bus Service, a privately-owned company established in 1953.

First Student acquired 62 school buses and transferred management of all of G&G’s student transportation contracts. In addition, all 53 people previously employed by G&G, including drivers, mechanics, administrative staff and bus attendants, were transferred to First Student employment.

Customers whose business was also transferred to First Student include:

  • Chester Union Free School District
  • Florida Union Free School District
  • Minisink Valley Central School District
  • Warwick Valley Central School District
  • John S. Burke Catholic High School
  • Greystone, Inc.
  • AGRI Business Child Development
