First Transit Commits to DriveCam 5-Year Managed Services Contract

SAN DIEGO–DriveCam, Inc., a global Driver Risk Management Company, today announced that FirstGroup’s First Transit has committed to a 5-year agreement to deploy up to 6,000 vehicles on DriveCam’s Managed Services Program. In addition, First Transit has committed to implementing DriveCam’s latest product release, an advanced Fuel Management solution, on key segments of its fleet. FirstGroup America is the nation’s largest provider of surface transportation services, with First Transit conveying 300 million passenger each year and covering more than 313 million annual fleet miles.

“We are proud to be working with FirstGroup, where safety is a core value”

“DriveCam helps us differentiate our services to new and existing customers by helping us deliver what our customers demand: world-class safety performance, reduced operating costs and a positive impact on the environment,” commented Brad Thomas, First Transit President. “The combination of DriveCam’s ability to deliver a strong return on our investment, along with their understanding of the unique attributes of the transportation industry, makes them a high-value partner.”

Seamlessly integrated into DriveCam’s DC3 event recorder and the DriveCam Online reporting solution, DriveCam’s Fuel Management Solution provides real-time measurement and feedback, helping drivers reduce excessive idling, speeding and other behaviors that result in wasted fuel. DriveCam has measured fuel savings of up to 12%, and estimates an annual reduction of 75,000 tons of CO2 emissions for a 6,000 vehicle transit fleet (based on EPA calculations).

“We are proud to be working with FirstGroup, where safety is a core value,” commented DriveCam CEO Brandon Nixon. “FirstGroup has long been recognized as a leader in fleet safety, highlighted by awards such as the National Safety Council’s Green Cross– an honor awarded to just one organization, from any industry, each year. As evidenced by our Managed Services Program and Fuel Management Solution, DriveCam supports the value of safety within First Transit’s fleet and continues to innovate to bring exceptional value to long-standing clients.”
