Transfinder Closes First Half of 2015 with Record Revenue

Transfinder, a software company based in Schenectady, N.Y., achieved record revenue for the first half of 2015.

Total sales were up 16 percent year-over-year for the first six months ended June 30, 2015 compared with the same period in 2014. President and CEO Antonio Civitella said he expected Transfinder to beat last year’s record-revenue mark of $10.4 million.

“We know what our customers need and want and know how to deliver them efficiently and consistently,” Civitella said.

Transfinder started the year with back-to-back record-breaking quarter. First quarter 2015 revenue was up 20 percent compared with the first quarter of 2014. Second-quarter 2015 rose 4 percent compared with the same period last year. Civitella noted that the second quarter of 2014 had, at that time, been Transfinder’s biggest quarter.

Other highlights:

  • 100 new customers, with more than 50 percent leaving competitors’ products for Transfinder;
  • Release of the highly anticipated Routefinder Pro v12.0;
  • Record attendance at its Annual Client Summit, which was held in Austin, Texas, in May, with more than 250 attendees, up from last year’s recording-breaking 210 who attended in Albany, New York.
  • Another significant source of revenue growth is the company’s three-day in-house training seminars called Transfinder University. The first in-house Transfinder University was held in July 2014, drawing 11 attendees. Three Transfinder University sessions were held in 2014 with a total of 35 transportation professionals in attendance.
  • During the first six months of 2015, five Transfinder University sessions have been held with a total of 69 people in attendance. The company’s first out-of-state Transfinder University is scheduled for September at the company’s new satellite office in Austin, Texas. Transfinder University will soon be offered every month.

Civitella said he was pleased by the results for the first six months of 2015, and expected to close 2015 strong.

“School budgets have eased a little bit, so schools have more money available to use on tools like ours that will ultimately pay for themselves and save districts money both in the short- and long-term,” Civitella said.
