Transfinder One of 70 Companies Named a ‘Best Company to Work For in N.Y. State’

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Transfinder Corp., the leading developer of school bus routing software sand logistics solutions in North America, has been named a “Best Company to Work For in New York State” for a second time.

The designation comes from the New York State Society for Human Resources Management. The NYS-SHRM created the award in 2007 as part of a distinctive program to evaluate and rank the best places of employment in the state. NYS-SHRM is an affiliate of the national Society for Human Resources Management, the world’s largest association that is devoted to human resources. It serves the needs of members and advances the interests of the HR profession.

Transfinder President and CEO Antonio Civitella said the recognition is especially important now, as the company works to recruit prospective employees beyond the Capital Region. The school bus routing company is actively seeking candidates for a variety of positions, including developers, as well as in sales and support. To fill these positions, increased recruiting efforts are being made throughout the state as well as in neighboring states.

“This designation is meaningful to Transfinder because it recognizes what we are already doing to make sure every single employee knows the work they do matters,” Civitella said. “We as a company are responsible for the safe transportation of 5 million schoolchildren every single school day. And we also are helping schools reduce their carbon footprint by creating the safest and most efficient routes possible.”

Civitella added that it is also important to have fun and celebrate the wins, too.

“We have lots of celebrations,” Civitella. “Just ask anyone working near our headquarters.”

Civitella said the award reaffirms that Transfinder is on the right track in terms of its benefits, work environment and morale.

“I firmly believe that whether you win the award or not, employees know if they work at a great place,” he said. “But we’re grateful to the Society for Human Resources Management for proclaiming the news far and wide.”

Transfinder will be honored at an awards dinner to be held at the Albany Marriott on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Transfinder also won the award in 2015.

Transfinder is among 27 small employers to win the award. In this category, employers have between 15 and 99 U.S. employees. Transfinder joins such winners as Edward Jones, MVP Health Care and The Pike Co.

The winners will be featured in a special publication profiling the 70 winning organizations and their unique employment perks. The publication will be produced for distribution to event attendees, higher education institutions, plus thousands of human resources professionals and organizations across New York state.

To be considered for participation, organizations had to fulfill specific registration eligibility requirements, then participate in a two-part survey of employee satisfaction and engagement, as well as workplace practices and policies.

Best Companies Group, an independent firm that manages Best Places to Work programs on state, regional and national levels around the world, conducted the survey process, then evaluated the results and determined the best places of employment in the Empire State.
