Seon Names Winner of Anti-Bullying Coloring Contest

Seon named Mayson Bac, 11, the winner of the video surveillance provider’s inaugural Anti-bullying Coloring Contest with the theme “Bullies Aren’t Cool.” The middle schooler from North Thurston School District in Lacey, Wash., was one of 1,300 particpants from across the U.S. and Canada.

Seon said the goal of the coloring contest was to further a conversation on bullying between school bus drivers, student riders, school administrators and parents. The students participated in three age categories, 5 to 7 years old, 8 to 10 years old and 11 years and older. Entries were submitted by Oct. 31.

“We were overwhelmed by the success of our ‘Bullies Aren’t Cool’ coloring contest,” added Lori Jetha, marketing communications manager at Seon. “We always knew that school transportation staff were a dedicated bunch, but we were blown away with their response to this campaign.”

Chinook Middle School, where Bac attends, will receive a $500 donation from Seon to spend on anti-bullying awareness along with a “Bully Project Educator’s DVD and Toolkit.” Bac also won a Seon anti-bullying teddy bear, medal and certificate.

Seon chose a first, second, and third place winner in each age category (5-7, 8-10, 11-plus). The first place winners of each age category receive the “Bully Project Educator’s DVD and Toolkit” for their school and a Seon anti-bullying teddy bear, medal and certificate. Second and third place winners also receive a Seon teddy bear, medal and certificate.

“We were so impressed by both the quantity and the quality of the contest entries that we decided to award special prizes for first, second, and third place in each age category, in addition to choosing an overall winner,” says Jetha. “Everyone’s support of this worthy cause made us want to acknowledge more participants of the contest as a thank you.”
