Workers at Thomas Built Buses Facility Get New Contract

Thomas Built Buses announced United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 5287 ratified a new four-year contract for workers at the bus company’s manufacturing facility in High Point, North Carolina.

The new contract rewards the valuable contributions of Thomas Built’s workforce while improving the efficiency of its operations in order to make the business more competitive. The contract includes a ratification bonus, four pay increases and increased paid vacation. The agreement is effective immediately and runs through April 20, 2018.

“The new four-year agreement between Thomas Built Buses and the UAW serves the mutual benefit of our company and our valued workers,” said Kelley Platt, president, Thomas Built Buses. “The ongoing close collaboration with the UAW has resulted in acontract that will help assure Thomas Built Buses continued growth in the market place, manufacturing excellence and market leadership.”

The facility in High Point currently employs approximately 1,400 workers.
