A former school bus driver in Cape Cod, Massachusetts has been indicted on charges of sexual assault involving two students in Barnstable last year, reported Boston.com.
The Cape and Islands District Attorney’s office reportedly announced last week that Jeffrey Hyland, 80, of West Yarmouth was indicted on two counts of aggravated indecent assault and battery on a child less than 14-years-old.
Hyland was also indicted on two counts of reckless endangerment of a child and one count of intimidation of a witness.
Prosecutors said via the article that on Sept. 13, police received a report of an alleged indecent of assault and battery on a young girl by her bus driver.
Hyland was identified as the driver and upon further investigation the Barnstable Police Department recovered evidence of the alleged indecent and arrested Hyland. He was held overnight on a $5,000 bond before posting and be releasee.
He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and was required to wear a GPS monitor.
Another police report against Hyland was reportedly made in October stating that he had inappropriately touched another minor on or about Sept. 5.
