Overturned School Bus Injures 5 Passengers in Ellicott City

WBAL-TV reports a school bus has crashed and overturned,  leaving five people injured early this morning in Ellicott City, Maryland.

The school bus crash was reported to have occurred at 6:55 a.m. on the northbound Route 29 and 100, which caused major traffic delays.

Police believe the school bus driver lost control of the wheel westbound on Route 100 as he exited north onto Route 29, then crashing into another car and rolling on its side. It is unclear as to what led the driver to lose control of the wheel.

Officials consider the crash to be weather-related.

Maryland Police indicated that the school bus driver. two adults and two 15-year-old students of Mt. Hebron High School were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Route 29 north was closed due to the incident and has reopened, per Maryland State Highway Administration officials.

No other injuries were reported at the incident.
