School Bus Crash leaves 3 Injured in Philadelphia; Teen, 2 Adults

NBC10 reports a passing SUV struck a school bus Friday morning in Philadelphia, leaving three passengers on the bus with minor injuries.

The crash occurred on East Wyoming Avenue in proximity to the Juanita neighborhood while enroute to John Hancock Middle School in the early morning.

Passengers who sustained minor injuries were a 13-year old girl (leg and neck pain), a 33-year old bus driver (minor facial abrasion), and one bus aide (back and leg pain), according to Philadelphia police.

The victims were then transported to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where doctors assessed their injuries. None of them were deemed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 2016 Honda CRV, was not hurt, despite the wreckage.

An initial investigation indicated that the SUV driver attempted to pass the bus on its left when headed eastbound on Wyoming, which then caused the SUV to clip the school bus.

Police said no charges have been filed on the crash as the investigation continues.
