School Bus Driver Drops Off Child at Waffle House

According to WDBO, a Florida bus driver is in hot water after dropping off a 5-year-old boy at a Waffle House restaurant instead of his Fort Meyer day care.

Afterwards, the child was forced to walk several blocks on busy highway US-41 to a gas station. According to the police report, the boy was found at the gas station by concerned woman.

Former school bus driver Theresa Short couldn’t imagine what was going through the school bus driver’s head at the time. “I just don’t think there was any excuse whatsoever for him to be left here,” she said.

The Lee County School District said the driver is no longer employed by the district.
