A special executive-level seminar designed specifically for approved student transportation decision-makers kicks off the STN EXPO this summer.
Successful applicants to the Transportation Director Summit will obtain high-level insights from experts within the student transportation industry and beyond on how to implement true leadership and innovation practices into their local operations.
Participants need not merely hold the title of transportation director for their organization to gain access but also prove to organizers that their job functions require them to serve as the primary leader in their organization when it comes to approving and overseeing all aspects and operations of student transportation services, including purchasing, fleet management, budgeting, personnel issues, and safety training.
The inaugural, signature event begins the evening of July 7 with a kick-off event hosted by Dr. Stephen Sroka, a health education expert, member of the National Teachers Hall of Fame, and internationally renowned inspirational speaker and trainer. He will set the stage for the following day’s activities by challenging attendees to re-examine their personal and professional value systems.
Sroka will return on July 8 to introduce the Saturday agenda, which will include presentations, roundtable discussions and group exercises to help develop traits that promise to positively affect company and department culture. Also: address staff shortages and succession planning; identify proper organizational structure based on not only district or company needs and values; determine value-based processes and procedures to enhance safety and operational efficiency; analyze current and emerging technological trends to identify adoption paths; and develop resulting cost management and resource allocation strategies.
In addition to the structured learning sessions, the event will also feature a networking lunch for public-and private-sector participants as well as representatives of sponsoring companies.
