Inspiring Messages Coming to Oklahoma State Conference

Those at the National Association for Pupil Transportation Summit last fall in Richmond, Virginia, were wowed by speaker Scott Burrows, a quadrapeligic with an especially inspirational story of perseverance. Attendees at the Oklahoma Association for Pupil Transportation 41th Annual Summer Conference and Trade Show next month are in for a similar treat.

Burrows headlines four days of content in Norman, Oklahoma, that starts June 4 with the state roadeo, school bus driver in-service and certificate renewal, special needs child passenger and wheelchair restraint training, and a routing and planning user group. Burrows opens the regular conference the next morning with his presentation “Vision – Mindset – Grit,” sponsored by Ross Transportation.

Artist Richard Height, sponsored By Midwest Bus Sales, Inc., keynotes the following morning with a session called “Picture This” that combines art, music and the spoken word to inspire the audience to not only achieve fulfillment in their careers but also in their personal lives.

Other sessions will dive into such topic as student discipline, principles of clean diesel management, state emergency guidelines for schools, the Transportation Security AdministrationFirst Observer program, and behind-the-wheel training.
