Practice Evacuation, Securement and More at 2020 TSD Conference

The 2020 TSD Conference will feature three hands-on training opportunities for special needs student transporters.

To earn 5.5 CEUs, attend and complete the Child Passenger Safety Restraint Training that is approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Held on March 20, 2020, this class will be led by certified instructors Kathy Anneken of Easy Way Safety Services, Fred Doelker of Dean Transportation, Denise Donaldson of Safe Ride News, Sue Shutrump of Trumbull County (Ohio) ESC, and Charles Vits of IMMI/SafeGuard.

The class may be purchased separately OR as an add-on to a Main Conference Attendee registration.

A class focusing on school bus dispatchers will also be held on Saturday, March 20. Dispatch is the life-blood of your operation, controlling information to and from the front-line staff members who transport students with special needs. This interactive class will use case studies to provide considerations and techniques to improve the health of your organization through effective dispatch practices.

An evacuation class will be Saturday, March 21 at Frisco ISD following the conclusion of the TSD roadeo. Lunch and transportation to and from the event will be provided. A best-practice review in a classroom setting will be followed by a hands-on emergency evacuation drill to be held on a special needs school bus that will also be filled with theater smoke.

Participants will be trained and tested on the proper evacuation of preschool students or those who have special needs, or require various child safety restraint systems. Additional training will cover tools, evacuation and fire blankets, belt cutters and more.

The dispatch and evacuation classes may be purchased as add-ons to a Main Conference Attendee registration.

All three classes have size limits, so reserve your spot before they fill up. Learn more and register with the Super Early Bird discount of $150 through Dec. 13.

The TSD Conference will also include expert trainers, inspirational keynotes, a roadeo, a trade show, and networking opportunities in the beautiful setting of the Embassy Suites Dallas-Frisco.
