As our society knows all too well, terrorism can strike anywhere at anytime. With some 25 million students being transported on 480,000 yellow school buses daily, how are school districts expected to keep them safe from a potential terrorist attack?
Security expert, trainer and author Bret E. Brooks of Gray Ram Tactical, LLC returns to the STN EXPO on July 23 to present a two-hour workshop that trains attendees on how to understand the real and perceived threats in our communities. He will also speak on the role school districts may be pressed into playing should a tragedy occur, especially if this industry’s unthinkable ever happens.
Brooks is a former U.S. Army captain and has more than 13 years of law enforcement experience. He is a former SWAT Team sniper, counter-terrorism instructor and adjunct college professor, who teaches Homeland Security courses for a military academy. Currently, he is the chief operating officer of Gray Ram Tactical, which provides a host of security training for schools and private organizations.
Brooks combines his personal experiences with his academic background and advanced degrees to research and create a variety of training programs. He has taught tens of thousands of working professionals, and has published numerous academic journal and magazine articles and books. His research and training programs have been used and requested all across North and South America, Europe, Australia and the Middle East. His focus of instruction is on violence related issues pertaining to educational systems, facilities and personnel.
