FORT VALLEY, Ga. — Blue Bird is unveiling its all-new Hydraulic Brake Kits at the 2017 STN Expo in Reno, Nev. These kits enable the customer to order one part number and receive all of the components required to complete a front or rear brake job at a price lower than buying the parts individually.
“At Blue Bird, we are committed to providing a superior after-sale experience for our customers. We have received numerous dealer requests to develop kits to make it easier to order all the parts required to perform routine maintenance procedures,” said Jeff Merten, vice president of parts and service.
Merten noted, “These new Hydraulic Brake Kits are designed to do just that. In addition, we are offering a discount that enables the customer to save money by buying the all-inclusive kit versus the individual components. This will be a big win in the market. Parts professionals and technicians will love these new kits.”
Four hydraulic brake job kits are offered that fit 2003 and later Blue Bird Vision and All American buses.
These kits utilize the same components that are original equipment on Blue Bird buses, so customers have the peace of mind that comes with the thorough validation that is completed by the factory.
The pads and rotors are ideal friction mates for each other. The rotors include a two-part coating that protects against harmful de-icing chemicals and covers the entire surface of the rotor, including internal surfaces. This coating protects the cooling veins from corrosion to increase pad life and improve brake fade performance. Meritor manufactures these kits to exacting Blue Bird standards.
More kits will be coming from Blue Bird in the future as we strive to make it easier to order parts and perform routine maintenance on school buses. We are sure this will be welcomed in the marketplace.
