DATTCO Receives Prestigious Safety Award from International Motorcoach Group

NEW BRITAIN, CONN. — DATTCO, Inc., one of Connecticut’s largest passenger transportation companies, located in New Britain, Conn., announced it has received the prestigious International Motorcoach Group’s (IMG) Safety Award. The annual IMG Safety Award is presented to the company who has demonstrated the highest level of safety throughout their organization.

Nominees for the Safety Award are chosen by IMG shareholders, based on a thorough review of DOT, Insurance and FMCSA records. Winners not only meet maximum federal, state, and local regulations, but go above and beyond implementing company safety measures that ensure their employees and customers experience the safest work and transportation conditions possible.

“We are proud to have received the IMG Safety Award. DATTCO has an uncompromising commitment to high standards when it comes to motorcoach safety, maintenance, customer service, driver training, equipment, operations and on-road support,” said Donald DeVivo, president of DATTCO. “We are thrilled to have our efforts recognized by our peers. The operators in this group have the reputation of being the most trusted in the industry and have set a standard of excellence for other operators to follow, and we are honored to be among them.”

DATTCO is a founding member of The International Motorcoach Group. Formed in 1998, IMG is an invitation-only organization made up of 56 independent, North American charter bus operators that share a commitment to excellence in customer service, safety, training and maintenance.

“We are very proud to honor a company with a long history as a shareholder of IMG. DATTCO’s leadership and management have had active involvement in the growth of IMG’s commitment to safety and the industry’s commitment through their active role in American Bus Association’s (ABA) Bus Industry Safety Council,” explained Real Boissonneault, IMG’s chairman of the board, and President of Quebec’s Autocar Excellence.

DATTCO has had representation on ABA’s Bus Industry Safety Council since 1992.  The mission of the Council is to continually raise the level of safety in the intercity bus and motorcoach industry through collaborative efforts of professionals in a workshop and educational environment.

“We have a robust safety program at DATTCO, which includes asking all employees to take the ‘Safety Starts with Me’ pledge,” explained Pamela Martinez, VP of human resources and risk management. “Our employees are very committed to this pledge and put safety before everything else in their daily job duties. This is evidenced by our stellar safety record that has continued to improve since the pledge was put in place a few years ago. We thank our employees for helping us attain this recognition from IMG.”
