Thomas Built Institute for Technicians to Be Held in Conjunction With STN EXPO

This year, the STN EXPO will welcome back the Thomas Built Institute hands-on training workshop for technicians. It will be held July 23-26 in conjunction with the 20th anniversary school-bus conference at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nev.

The workshop, one of two Thomas Built Buses puts on each year, is intended to enhance bus technician skills and complement school bus maintenance programs. The first workshop was held May 7-10 in Greensboro, N.C.

“The annual Thomas Built Institute has become a very popular opportunity for school bus technicians to get hands-on training and a factory-certified curriculum in small classes, all in less than a week’s time,” said Mike Stotler, service education manager for Thomas Built Buses.

Those interested registered through Thomas Built’s website. The Thomas Built Institute is limited to 100 participants.

Registration, which is now closed, cost $325 and includes lunch and ground transportation as well as access into the STN EXPO trade show and after-show events. However, in order to attend the STN EXPO workshops, general sessions and keynote presentations, Thomas Built Institute participants must pay a separate registration fee either through www.stnexpo.com or on-site.

Participants who register to attend the EXPO workshops will be able to attend a number of educational sessions under the show’s Maintenance track as well as other workshops in the categories of Management & Operations, Special Needs, Safety & Security and Head Start.
