Vandals Strike School Buses

Western Slope Now is reporting that the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, along with Student Transportation of America, are asking for the public’s help to identify the persons responsible for several recent vandalism incidents that unfolded on District 51 property.

Over the last 48 hours multiple school buses were vandalized at the bus lot just east of Chatfield Elementary.

Officals in Colorado said that both incidents took place in the middle of the night. Approximately, nine school buses in total were damaged, including multiple windows, windshields, headlights, surveillance cameras and emergency exits.

“This isn’t just a blow to STA, this is a blow to the community and very disheartening,” said an official. “All in all, the vandals have damaged all of our vehicles to the tune of about $15,000 to $20,000.”
