A California transportation director who has successfully implemented a V2G project at his school district will take the stage at STN EXPO West to discuss how to potentially create grid resiliency while earning revenue for fleets.
The upcoming “Unlocking the Potential of V2G in School Fleets” session will be held Sunday, July 12 at the STN EXPO West conference in Reno, Nevada. Moderator Grant Jones, director of sustainability consultant firm Updraft Energy as well as former deputy director of sustainability for the White House Council on Environmental Quality and a physical scientist with the EPA. He will be joined by panelists Erney Epley, director of transportation at Fremont Unified School District near San Francisco, and Rudi Halbright, expert product manager of vehicle grid integration at utility Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to discuss the latest options with this technology.
Epley will share Fremont USD’s electrification and V2G journey, detailing the processes of the V2G project that launched last year. During this outline, attendees will gain valuable insights into early discussions with utility companies, partner selection, infrastructure requirements and ensuring compatibility with OEMs and grant funding.
