Minnesota First Student Locations Hold Food Drive

Four First Student locations in Minnesota participated in the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign, collecting over 5,300 pounds of food and approximately $1,000 to benefit food shelves in throughout the state.

“There are students in our community who depend on school meals for their primary source of nutrition,” said Phil O’Donnell, First Student area general manager. “We recognize that breakfast and lunch are important in contributing to the learning process throughout the school day, which is why this initiative is so important to us. We don’t want any students in our community to go without a meal this summer.”

The First Student locations that participated were Anoka, Brooklyn Park, Champlin and Red Wing. Employees of these locations held “Fill the Bus” events in order to collect non-perishable foods and cash donations.

During the month-long campaign, 300 food shelves across the state received donations from businesses, community groups and congregations to support individuals in need.
