Navistar Recognizes Leonard Bus Sales With Diamond Edge Certification

Leonard Bus Sales announced Monday that it has been certified as a Navistar Diamond Edge dealer by IC Bus, making it the only IC Bus dealer in North America to earn this certification in all of its full-service facilities.

“Earning Navistar’s Diamond Edge certification from IC Bus is a testament to our entire team and our commitment to making it easy for our school transportation partners,” said Mike Leonard, president of Leonard Bus Sales.

In order to earn the certification, a dealer must achieve rigorous parts and service metrics based on customer dwell time, or the time it takes for a customer to get a bus diagnosed, repaired and running again. Other qualifying criteria includes:

  • Provide dedicated Accelerated Service lanes where customers receive immediate vehicle evaluation by a technician and are informed of required repair, required parts and availability, and estimated repair time within two hours of vehicle’s arrival.
  • Enroll new bus orders onto the OnCommand Connection remote diagnostics system and designate an OnCommand Connection service champion at each service location.
  • Participate in the Dealership Inventory Alliance (DIA) parts inventory program to ensure common parts are readily available in dealer inventory.

“IC Bus has an unrelenting passion for delivering on our mission of uptime,” said Trish Reed, vice president and general manager, IC Bus. “The Diamond Edge Certified Program recognizes dealers with the highest-performing service departments in our network.”

Rob Stiteler, director of fixed operations for Leonard Bus Sales, expressed enthusiasm for having received the certification.

“We are also extremely proud that we are the only IC Bus dealer in North America that achieved this certification at all of our full-service facilities. We are looking forward to providing accelerated service, our highly-trained technicians and greater parts availability to our customers to ensure we are constantly improving our service dwell times,” he said.
