Pa. Assocation Prepares for 40th Roadeo with New Logo

School bus drivers from across Pennsylvania are competing regionally this spring for a chance to move on to the state’s 40th Annual School Bus Driver Safety Competition scheduled for June 24 and 25 in State College, and the Pennsylvania School Bus Association is commemorating the occassion with a new logo.

pa roadeo logoThe Keystone State’s first organized roadeo was held in 1976, aptly named the Pennsylvania School Bus Road-eo. PSBA changed the namee to it’s current title in 1994. The association, which consists of 350 school bus contractors and industry partners, added that thousands of school bus drivers have participated.

“We are ready to welcome the best of Pennsylvania’s school bus drivers to State College for our 40th competition,” said Dallas L. Krapf, vice chairman of Krapf Bus Companies and coordinator for the Pennsylvania School Bus Driver Safety Competition, “We look forward to watching these professionals put their knowledge and skills to the test. It is a true recognition and celebration of these everyday heroes, who drive our children to school every day in communities across the state.”

The top two drivers in the conventional and transit categories qualify for the International School Bus Driver Safety Competition, scheduled for July 17 in Greensboro, North Carolina during the National School Transportation Association Annual Meeting and Convention.
