Online training company School Training Solutions has released a summary of laws taken from state driver’s handbooks regarding how and when motorists are to stop for school buses engaged in the loading and unloading of students.
NASDPTS announced the availability of the report, which is available as a PDF. According to NASDPTS’ 2012 illegal passing survey conducted nationwide, nearly 100,000 school bus drivers reported that 88,025 vehicles passed their buses illegally on a single day.”
School Training Solutions is a division of Smart Horizons. The company said it offers comprehensive online training that is organized to meet both state mandated in-service training requirements and the professional development training needs of all school district employees, including student transporters.
School Training Solutions noted the state laws summary is only a guide and reminded readers that the laws are subject to change. It also advised that any questions be directed to local Departments of Motor Vehicles, from where the information was pulled.
