Safe Fleet Announced Coloring Contest Winner

Safe Fleet announced Monday the winner of the first part of the “United Against Bullying” coloring contest. This year’s winner is Allison McKenna Fox, a student at Meridian Middle School in Lynden, Washington.

Fox will receive an anti-bullying teddy bear, medal, button and certificate.

Safe Fleet and its subsidiaries including Seon organized the contest, the first part, which ran from Aug. 15 to Sep. 15, was open to students from all school districts across the United States and Canada.

“We were impressed by the creativity of students who took part in our contest and by the genuine interest of school communities to our program,” said Bob Parks, vice president of human resources at Safe Fleet. “The contest submissions covered a range of anti-bullying messages, teaching young people to be kind and supportive to each other. We thank all the students, educators and parents for all our team to continue working on solutions and initiatives to stop bullying.”

Safe Fleet and its subsidiaries will launch the second part of the coloring contest in October to coincide with National Bullying Prevention Month. During part two, participating students will color Allison McKenna Fox’ winning outline. Winners will be selected from three age categories: 5-6 and 8-10, as well as 11 and over. Winners will receive an anti-bullying medal, a button and certificate, along with a teddy bear. The schools the winners attend will receive $500 towards the development of anti-bullying programs and initiatives.

School transportation departments can also apply for a $50,000 grant program, which will cover the expansion of their anti-bullying programs and the purchase of school bus safety equipment. The application deadline is October 15.
