Scheuler Named President of Collins Bus

Allied Specialty Vehicles ended months of speculation by naming Matt Scheuler as president of Collins Bus Corporation, the company said on Monday.

matt scheuler collinsMatt ScheulerSchueler is a 13-year veteran of Collins, most recently serving as vice president of sales and marketing and before that, as director of sales and sales manager of Western U.S. and Canada accounts. He was rumored to be the replacement for Dan Peters, who left the company earlier this year after a brief stint.

Peters had replaced Kent Tyler, who was promoted within the ASV ranks, culminating with last week’s announcement that he is the new vice president of marketing for all ASV brands across North America.

ASV President and CEO Tim Sullivan said he is pleased to see Scheuler step into his new leadership position at Collins Bus.

“Matt has a proven record of guiding consistent sales growth and sustaining strong customer relationships, making him the ideal person to continue advancing Collins in the school bus market,” he added.

Scheuler noted he is “thrilled” to be at the helm of the company that introduced the first 16- to 20-passenger small school bus in 1967, the earliest wheelchair lift in the mid-1970s and the first propane-powered Type A school bus in 2010.

“When you combine this with our exceptional workforce and the largest distribution and service network of any school bus manufacturer in North America, Collins is poised to continue increasing its market share and setting the highest industry standards for manufacturing the most durable and reliable Type A school bus,” he said.
