New Jersey School Bus Fire was Accidental, Authorities Say

Ocean County police announced this morning that a fire that set aflame and damaged three school buses and another vehicle last week was deemed accidental, reports the Asbury Park Press.

Prosecutor’s spokesman Al Della Fave detailed that community members and other associated groups identified the origin of the fire as being the engine compartment, which sparked and spread to the other two buses. All of those were caused accidentally.

Township police noted that patrolman John Minor was the first to spot smoky plumes arise on Industrial way 2:40 a.m. local time on Friday morning.

Community Affairs Officer Ralph Stocco characterized the damages from the buses as severe and described the truck damage as its secondary exposure.
