North Carolina Student Boarding School Bus Hit by Motorist in Stolen SUV

A student in Charlotte, North Carolina, was hurt after being hit by an SUV while waiting at their school bus stop, reported WSOC-TV News.

The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday morning around 8:50 a.m. A Carmel Middle School student identified as Jefferson Reynoso stopped to pick up a dropped cell phone before boarding the bus and was struck by the SUV driver, who allegedly passed the bus illegally.

Police said via the article that the white SUV was allegedly stolen and the person driving it was speeding past the stopped school bus when it struck the child, then sped away from the scene.

According to the news report, the student was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Neither the identity of the SUV driver nor the age of student was revealed in this writing. The incident remains under investigation.
