A Different Type of ‘Love the Bus’

As school districts and bus companies across the country celebrated Valentine’s Day with American School Bus Council Love the Bus events, or were planning to this month, we received the following from a fan of the STN Facebook page on how the yellow bus helped to spark some romance.

“Why yes, my husband and I met in Vicksburg, Mich. I was a driver, he was a mechanic,” said Michelle Vander Veen Skinner of Portage, Mich. “We developed an amazing friendship over fueling my bus for many years and having coffee together every morning. We now have been married 12 years. He went on, and we bought our own automotive repair shop. I am still driving, 21 years worth. I never knew that love could grow on a school bus, but it did. I shared my love for him on my bus, and it bloomed from there, happily ever after.”
