The natural gas industry has converged on Denver for the 2015 North American NGV Conference & EXPO, and organizers said the event is expected to be the largest event of the year that focuses on natural gas trends and topics.
Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper gave an address Tuesday afternoon following the opening session on “Perspectives on Policy & Politics in Washington & State Capitals” and its discussion of current challenges and opportunities, the volatility of world energy prices and the importance of strong industry organizations during unpredictable times.
Following Hickenlooper’s remarks, the second plenary session “Economics, Environmental Benefits, Energy Security & Abundance – the Persuasive Case for Natural Gas as a Transportation Fuel” was a panel of industry experts that discussed these areas in-depth and and shared their views in support of the core value proposition of natural gas as a transportation fuel.
Overall, 70 speakers were scheduled to present during the three-day conference, which concludes on Thursday. More than 1,000 attendees were also expected.
The NGV EXPO also opened Tuesday with more than 100 exhibitors on hand.
