Boyertown Area School District Adds Safety Vision’s Camera System

HOUSTON — Boyertown Area School District has brought in Safety Vision, LLC. to install its camera systems on 185 of its school buses. The district’s goal was to maintain a secure environment on its buses.

Based on the PDE 2018-2019 Enrollment Reports, Boyertown is the “45th largest school district out of 787 LEAs in Pennsylvania,” so the push for stricter security is a major focus. Boyertown has committed to install Safety Vision’s Observer 4000 Hybrid Video Recorder, AHD Wide View camera, and the 41 HD camera series, for complete interior coverage of each bus.

“Our Student Advisory Council and Parent Advisory Council spoke and we listened. They asked us to make sure we have camera systems on as many buses as possible, to help increase student safety, and that is what we are doing, to not only increase safety but to also help us become more efficient and effective,” said Dr. Bedden, Boyertown Area School District Superintendent.

Dr. Bedden explained, “Safety Vision’s mobile cameras are designed with the school bus in mind, and their responsiveness to helping us determine how to get the biggest ROI while not sacrificing quality has been invaluable during this process. The wide-view camera systems being deployed for next school year on 185 vehicles will provide us with complete interior coverage with an HD quality picture.”

Boyertown Area School District is using Safety Vision’s budget-conscious Evergreen Program to help ROI. With this program, the district has a five-year advanced replacement warranty with spare parts, plus the benefit of knowing how much the cameras will cost for the next five years.

Additionally, the district has the option to refresh its fleet at the end of the program if the district chooses to continue. For ultimate flexibility, Safety Vision’s recorders will be integrated with Synovia software, to save the district money, by bypassing data plans and wireless network technology.

Safety Vision and Boyertown Area School District officials are excited about this partnership and eager to implement mobile surveillance on school buses, to increase student safety.
