LISLE, Ill. — Durham School Services, a leading provider of student transportation, values its team members providing outstanding customer service—recognizing them with the Customer Champion Award. This month, the special education transportation team in Carpentersville, Ill., earned the honor.
General Manager Dan Sutherland nominated his team after he received a letter of recognition and photo from District 300 Director of Transportation Donna Bordsen, showing the Durham team cheering on its students at a special education basketball game.
“Their commitment to our students goes beyond their dedication to getting our children safely to and from school,” said Bordsen. “The Durham team’s cheers and support for our special needs athletes warms my heart, as it does for the District 300 staff. What a great group of people.”
Each month, CEO Matt Ashley reviews submissions sent to him from more than 250 facilities throughout the country, awarding team members who provide exceptional work for the schools, districts, students and parents they serve. With safety at the forefront, Durham team members take pride in not only providing excellent service to their students, but also making a positive impact in their lives.
“When I read this nomination about the care they have given beyond the bus, they certainly earned the award for being excellent ambassadors to our customer and being our students’ biggest fans,” said Ashley.
Durham provides transportation for the 10,300 students who attend Community Unit School District 300, with more than 900 of these students having special needs.
