Durham School Services Hosts Safety Tour for Mayor Quentin Hart

WATERLOO, Ia. — Durham School Services, a leading provider of student transportation, invited Mayor Quentin Hart to tour their facility in Waterloo, Iowa.

Durham team members walked Mayor Hart through the daily operations, including pre- and post-trip inspections and child check procedure, to safely transport nearly 5,000 students to Waterloo Community Schools every school day.

“My visit was very educational and informative. I was impressed with the Durham team’s dedication to safety. Every aspect of the tour enlightened me about all the work that goes into getting our students to school safely,” said Mayor Hart. “While school has closed for the summer, I know Durham will continue to work ensuring that our buses are safe for our students in the coming year.”

“We’re honored to have had the opportunity to showcase our efforts and dedication to Mayor Hart,” said Kathleen Corbett, general manager for Durham. “The safety of the students we transport is always our top priority, and we continue to find new opportunities with the use of technology and training to further set ourselves apart as a leader in student transportation.”

Waterloo Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Jane Lindaman was also in attendance for the tour. Waterloo Community Schools has contracted with Durham since 2012.

“We’re proud to partner with Durham,” said Dr. Lindaman. “As one of the largest school districts in Iowa, we value Durham’s commitment to providing safe, quality transportation for our students.”
