IC Bus University Training Dates Announced, Advanced Training Forthcoming

IC Bus will hold five week-long training seminars for technicians this summer at the company’s Tulsa, Okla., plant, to better meet the needs of the school community. It will announce additional advanced training on school bus diagnostics.

The first training session begins June 25 with subsequent training held the weeks of July 9, July 23, Aug. 6 and Aug. 20.

“This summer focus was at the request of our dealers and customers, and we are announcing all sessions at one time so that potential attendees can pick the session that is best for them as all sessions are now open for registration,” said John Thompson, director of training for IC Bus.

IC Bus is expected to announce an Advanced IC Bus University and publish a schedule later this year. These three-day classes will be limited to eight attendees for each session and will focus on advanced diagnostics. The prerequisite for this advanced training will be completion of the initial IC Bus University class.

Meanwhile, IC Bus University features three, eight-hour classes on engines, bus electrical and bus maintenance. There will be a four-hour class on Friday morning of each week-long training that will cover the Allison transmission. Registration for the regular IC Bus University is $350 per person, but the company added that 50 percent discounts are available to participants of the IC Beyond program. Attendees are responsible for their own travel and lodging.

The host hotel for the events is the Doubltree Hotel at Warren Place. More information is available by calling John Thompson at (501) 505-2287 or via email.
