Just in time to celebrate its 40th anniversary, the National Association for Pupil Transportation has launched a redesigned, “mobile-enabled” website with a fresh look and a wider range of content.
A mobile-enabled website can automatically detect what device each visitor is using to access its homepage, then display it in the format best for that device, whether it is an iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Android, etc. With this capability, the site’s navigation and content is reorganized to fit the specific browser window, and the pages are made “lighter” so they download quickly.
“In today’s fast-paced environment, having a mobile-friendly site is key to serving members’ needs. This new site accomplishes that goal, thanks to the design,” said Don Carnahan, NAPT president. “The new design offers an intuitive structure, allowing visitors to quickly find the information they’re seeking.”
Mike Martin noted that revamping the NAPT website during its 40th anniversary was not planned but rather, a lucky coincidence. Quadsimia, based in Upstate New York, handled the redesign.
“The primary reason for the redesign was to better serve our members and the industry as a whole,” Martin added. “Our members asked for a site that provides timely industry information, so one of our new features is the news feed on the homepage and a news archive.”
Another new addition is the section dedicated to the association’s Professional Development Series (PDS) and certification programs, which he said clearly lays out the application process, requirements, and various courses and certifications available.
“Making this information easy to find and understand is key to meeting the demands of today’s pupil transportation professionals,” Martin continued. “Similarly, keeping our members up-to-date on regulations and industry requirements is critical to their success and the safety of the students they transport.”
The site also allows easy online registration for the association’s 40th Annual Summit: Driving Innovation — set for Nov. 8-11 in Kansas City, Missouri — and for upcoming training sessions.
Transportation professionals can utilize the Partner Directory to find potential business partners and find vital information in the Featured News and Resources sections.
The site has a cleaner, more vibrant look, with black, gold and teal accents. There is plenty of industry information available to the public, while NAPT members can access even more information by clicking on the upper right tab “Members Only.”
Added Carnahan: “And of course we want to celebrate our members, their accomplishments, and the tremendous impact they have on their local districts and communities they serve. Visitors will see all of this right on the homepage of the reinvigorated website.”
