65-Year Iowa School Bus Driver Could Find Himself With Guinness World Record

School bus Driver Alan Wright from Jesup, Iowa, may be the world’s longest-running school bus driver, reported WTKR.

The 88-year-old Iowa resident has reportedly been driving kids to school for 65 years. His service and dedication have made him a staple in his community. He currently serves as a driver at Jesup Community School District.

Wright recently served as the grand marshal of a Farmers’ Day celebration, where he  opted to drive his school bus in the parade instead of the typical convertible car, and invited others to join him.

According to the article, Guinness World Records will soon be letting Wright know if he does indeed hold the title of school bus driver with the longest tenure behind the wheel.

School Transportation News reached out to the district to speak to Wright but no response was received at this writing.
