Toyota!

The catch-phrase from the 1980s TV commercials is coming to the school bus industry. Sort of.

A major announcement was expected at the NAPT trade show today regarding a partnership between Hino Trucks USA and a small school bus manufacturer to introduce a new line of large school buses. Hino Trucks is Toyota’s light- and medium-duty line of commercial trucks, a relationship that goes back to 2003.

We’ve heard the deal is done after much waiting that dates back to late spring. The news is “semi-confirmed” so stay tuned as we hope to have more information a bit later today. For now, let’s just say the stars seemed aligned.

Update: Read our news story officially announcing the partnership between Hino and Starcraft Bus.
