STN EXPO Speaker Spotlight: Linda Bluth

The esteemed Emeritus Tenured Faculty member Dr. Linda F. Bluth returns to the STN EXPO armed with knowledge and expertise stemming from more than 50 years of experience as a special educator, including 36 years in special needs transportation.

Dr. Bluth’s workshops are typically maxed out, as attendees hear from an expert who has authored more than 125 publications in the school transportation field, and numerous education publications. She provides attendees with interesting scenarios for discussion — much of it deriving from her experience at the Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Special Education/Early Intervention Services.

On Sunday, July 9, Dr. Bluth will be part of a panel session titled “Special Education vs. Transportation: Who Has the Final Word?” This session will “provide an opportunity to hear from both sides of the road, special educators and transportation personnel discussing and resolving transportation challenges by responding to a series of scenarios presented.”

Later that day, Dr. Bluth will present “What to Do When…Selecting The Right Road to Solve Everyday Issues,” in which she will share “a series of potential transportation procedural violations, impacting transportation provisions for students with disabilities” as well as “workable solutions for resolving everyday issues with an emphasis on de-escalating potential noncompliance.”

On Monday, July 10, Dr. Bluth will moderate “Grappling with Systemic Complaints on School Bus Drivers & Attendants,” which will “discuss best practices for grappling and resolving systemic complaints about school bus drivers & attendants.”

You don’t want to miss Dr. Linda Bluth and other presenters, who will provide insight and solutions to attendees’ most pressing challenges and issues. Check out the agenda-at-a-glance to begin to plan your time in Reno. So get your approval and register today at the Early Bird rate, good through this Friday, June 9.
