STATEN ISLAND, November 8, 2011– Atlantic Express Transportation Corp., a Staten Island-based leading national provider of school bus, para-transit, coach and express bus transportation services, announced today that its subsidiary Atlantic Express Coachways, Inc. has recently reached an agreement with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) to renew the transportation contract for the X23 and X24 commuter express bus service.
Under the terms of the three-year contract extension, Atlantic Express will continue to provide its popular, reliable, economical, GPS equipped fleet of late-model luxury European-style coach bus service between the South Shore of Staten Island and Midtown Manhattan through September 2014.

Atlantic Express has been operating X23/X24 express bus service since 2001 under contract with the NYCEDC and under supervision of the New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT). This contract extension will provide total revenues of approximately $19 million.
