Durham School Services Successfully Starts New Contract with Peach County Schools in Georgia

WARRENVILLE, Ill. – Durham School Services, a national leader in student transportation, began serving Peach County Schools in Fort Valley, GA, this month. The district awarded Durham a 5.5‐year student transportation contract that started Dec. 1. It is the first Georgia contract for Durham, which now operates in 32 states.

“The new service has been running smoothly, with school buses making their stops on time and remaining free of incidents,” said Durham Regional Manager Dave Brabender. “We’re excited to be part of the community.”

Durham is safely operating 38 bus routes in Peach County, transporting 3,500 students daily to six schools. The entire fleet is equipped with Zonar GPS and Zonar EVIR systems to improve communications, route efficiencies and fuel savings. Durham also has four new buses on order at Blue Bird.

“The school district has been a great partner in enabling us to get the service up to speed in a short turnaround time,” Brabender said. “The district staff has been rehired, and we have more drivers in behind‐the‐wheel training to expand our team.”

In Peach County and everyhwere Durham operates, the company is committed to getting students to school safely, on time and ready to learn. Its national resources bring teams of experts in every area of student transportation. By partnering with Durham, school districts experience improved services, cost efficiencies, and safety and training excellence.

“Our No. 1 priority is the safety of the students we transport, and that’s a responsibility we could not take more seriously,” Brabender said. “We work hard to give school districts and parents peace of mind.”
