Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week Selects the Donaldson DPF Pulse Cleaner for Innovative Design and Ease of Use

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Donaldson Company (NYSE:DCI), a leading, worldwide manufacturer of filtration systems and parts, is pleased to announce that Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) selected the Donaldson Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Pulse Cleaner as one of the Top Five 2009 Aftermarket Products. HDAW recognized the industry’s top heavy duty distributors, an outstanding technician and the best new aftermarket products during the closing awards ceremony following the week-long distributor-focused conference held in Orlando, Florida last month.

“We greatly appreciate the recognition for our DPF Pulse Cleaner by Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week, its organizers and the commitment HDAW has to pursuing excellence in the aftermarket industry,” said Fred Schmidt, director of the Emissions Retrofit Business at Donaldson Company. “For over 90 years, Donaldson has designed, manufactured and delivered filtration solutions and other technologies for medium and heavy-duty diesel powered equipment. The DPF Pulse Cleaner is an example of an Emissions Group product designed to reduce costs and improve the maintenance process for diesel engine owners.”

According to the news release issued by HDAW on February 20: “Donaldson was one of the first to develop a machine to perform the safe cleaning of these diesel filters that can cost as much as $5,000. The DPF Pulse Cleaner is fully automatic, easy to operate and will clean virtually every make and size of diesel particulate filter element.”

The Donaldson DPF Pulse Cleaner is a self-contained system that dislodges diesel ash and soot from the DPF. The removed ash and soot are captured in a serviceable filter located in the lower portion of the cabinet for easy removal. The average cleaning cycle is 15 minutes or less, depending on the level of contamination. With the DPF Pulse Cleaner, no outside DPF cleaning service is required. Donaldson’s two-stage DPF cleaning system simplifies the routine cleaning, making it ideal for maintenance facilities responsible for servicing trucks equipped with diesel particulate filters. The system provides fleet managers with flexibility and control of their DPF cleaning at a local level, and reduces spare DPF inventory costs. In addition, there are adapters available to interface with some OEM designs.

HDAW is organized by the Commercial Vehicle Solutions Network (CVSN), the Heavy Duty Distribution Association (HDDA) and the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) and sponsored by industry organizations.

Sal Miscio, Engine Aftermarket Sales Director, accepted the award at HDAW on behalf of Donaldson.
