InterMotive Launches Anti-Idling System

COLFAX, Calif. — InterMotive has launched the sale of Eco-Star — an automatic anti-idling system designed to save fuel, decrease green house gas emissions, and help you meet anti-idling regulations.

Eco-Star automatically turns the engine off when certain conditions are met (vehicle in Park, vehicle speed is 0 mph, and the passenger door is open) and automatically restarts the engine when the door is closed and the brake pedal is pressed, thus eliminating unnecessary idling while loading or unloading passengers. The system also monitors batter voltage and can automatically restart the engine if VBAT drops below the pre-programmed level.

Eco-Star is currently available as an option on buses built by ARBOC Mobility, however the system will work on 2008 and newer Ford and GM chassis built buses.
