School Bus Safety Company Sells Driver Training Course to Sixth Large School Bus Contractor

CLEVELAND – The School Bus Safety Company (SBSC) is proud to announce that having just received the order from Illinois Central for 64 copies of the “Driver Training Course;” they now have six of the eight largest contractors using the “Driver Training Course.”

Further, more than 550 school districts operating their own fleets also use the Driver Training Course, including 31 of the 100 largest fleets.

Jeff Cassell, president of SBSC commented “contractors must provide a high level of service to their customers and they quickly appreciated that the Driver Training Course will enable them to do this. The course focuses on improving driver behaviors and reduces school bus accidents by nearly 50%. School bus contracting is very competitive and private operators understand that dollars saved on accidents go straight to the bottom line. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

Student Transportation Inc is proud of their safety focus and they adopted the course at every location, more than a year ago. Dennis Gallagher the Chairman and CEO of Student Transportation Inc commented, “Through a recent study at a number of our locations, members of our Safety Council evaluated your Driver Training Course. They are very impressed with the quality of the materials and the content of the programs. Nothing like this has ever been available before and we have no doubt that this course will help us train our drivers to be even safer.”

Petermann has also been using the course for more than a year. Keith Harms, Safety director said, “Petermann is safety-focused. This is the best training available for our drivers. We all know that the driver holds the key to the safety of the kids and only by providing the best training can you meet the goal of keeping the kids safe. I have no hesitation in recommending this course to everyone involved in transporting students.”

Illinois Central has grown exponentially and Frank Ciccarella their Director of Safety & Training said, “It is our intention to make Illinois Central School Bus Company the safest and most professional provider of school bus transportation. This course will be the foundation upon which we build our System Safety and Security Program. Our service is provided by our drivers and we will help them become the best that they can be. Thank you for creating such a great course, and I have no hesitation in recommending its use to every school bus operation.”

Cassell said “our goal is to Make Kids Safer by radically improving both the quality and content of the training for school bus drivers. With the leadership of the top contractors and foremost districts, we are making great progress in achieving this.”
